Long Lost Donkey Kong Game Finally Dumped!

Did you knew that Nintendo used to license their classic games to be played in personal computers in Japan? That’s right! The strict “never-licensing anything” Nintendo of Japan used to allow the release of their NES and Arcade titles in Japanese computers of the 80’s, and one of these instances was a certain Donkey Kong game released on the Sharp X1 Computer in late 1984 called “Donkey Kong 3: Dai Gyakushuu“, also know as “Donkey Kong 3: The Great Counterattack“.

Hudson Soft was granted the right to port Nintendo’s classics to these computers, and while many other Nintendo games released for computers had been dumped in the past and preserved forever on the digital world, this obscure title has not enjoyed the same fate… until now!

Square Enix Does It Again with Chrono Trigger on PC

Get Ready for the Super Mario Encyclopedia

Have you had the opportunity to snag one of those “The Legend of Zelda” reference books? Dark Horse publishing seems to be pretty happy with the success that the Zelda’s reference guide achieved and decided to invest on a Mario guide as well, focusing on three decades of Nintendo gaming on the Super Mario Encyclopedia.

The Super Mario Encyclopedia is an exhaustive look at nearly every Super Mario game Nintendo’s made, from Super Mario Bros. in 1985 to 2015’s Super Mario 3D World.

While Michael Jackson had a close relationship with Sega, appearing in Space Channel 5 and starring in Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker, there have long been stories of his involvement in the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 soundtrack.

Back in 2009, Kotaku reported that the rumor had been confirmed by Jackson’s composer and musical director Brad Buxer, who said Jackson’s uncredited compositions ended up in the final soundtrack.
